Crime Murder: Steven J. Bruno
Prior Proceedings
I. Trial Court: Jury waives Mr.Bruno his right to an extradition hearing and gets sent to
orange county. Bruno faces 1 felony count of murder.
II. Once arriving Orange County Superior Court, his defense changes to the crime being
an “accident.” Psychologist testifies bruno suffering from mental disorders.
II. Court of Appeals
Facts:
• On August 30th, 2012 Steven Bruno gets kicked out of his home for not having a job nor
an education. Bruno loads his fathers car up with his belongings and he decides to meet up
with his online girlfriend.
• His father discovers the missing car and starts an argument with Steven. Steven then
brings out the handgun into the scene.
• Ernest Bruno is shot on the ground by his son and does not die from the first shot. Steven
then shoots his dad on the head leaving him fatal.
• Steven Drags the body into a bedroom and locks the door behind him and takes off with
