Campbell’s:
Price: The price was higher as most would thing. At Meijer it happen to be
on sale this week for $1.59. That is a 10 cent savings from the normal $1.69.
At Walmart it was just its normal everyday price of $1.34. I was surprised at
the difference in price. They promote themselves as the healthier and taster
alternative.
Sale or Promotion: So one store had a promotion and the other did not. Yet
the store without the promotion was cheaper. Walmart does claim that they
do not need to run sales because they are already the lowest price and if not
they will match their competitors price. Maybe Meijer wanted the
consumer to believe that they are getting more value for a lower price. There
is a coupon available from Campbell’s for buy three and get a $1 off.
Features or Benefits: It has less calories than the store brands. Campbell’s is
60. Meijer is 100. Walmart (Great Value) is 90. The sodium is less.
