Crashing Waves of Life
Waves roll onto the shore at every minute of every day. Although waves do eventually
crash, the water is then sucked back into the ocean to form a wave once again. In the novel
Siddhartha by Herman Hesse, Siddhartha, the main character, moves as the waves and enters
several cycles through his long journey of life. Siddhartha begins his life as a wealthy Brahmin
son but soon realizes that it is not the path he wishes to travel. Throughout the novel, Hesse
portrays that the path to happiness can only be learned from within yourself; the incorporation of
