Limitations of people with low vision could consist of a painful emotional adjustment
period, and be losing a part of one’s identity. Clients could deal with denial, depression, and
anxiety. Adjusting emotionally and physically will be difficult and hard for many clients. That is
why support and action are necessary for the client to adapt in the best possible way. Action,
meaning that the client should have a plan with their rehabilitation counselor of assistive devices
and career options that can help the client still live independently. Support, meaning that the
clients will need friends and family to accept the client’s disability but also let the client still live
independently. During this time the family can become overprotective, and that is why it is
essential for the client to understand the importance of learning to adjust to their disability
