1) Charleston, SC is in the Outer Coastal Plain Mixed Forest Province. This province goes from
about the Delaware Atlantic Ocean border to the Louisiana Gulf of Mexico border. It also covers
most of Florida, except for the tip of it, which is Southeastern Mixed Forest Province.
2) The predominant land-surface form of the Outer Coastal Plain Mixed Forest Province is flat
and irregular. Over 50 percent of the area has a gentle slope to it. The streams of this region are
sluggish. This province also includes a large number of marshes, swamps, and lakes.
3) The annual temperature in the Outer Coastal Plain Mixed Forest Province has a small range.
