Authoritative Parenting Vs. Permissive Parenting
Parenting is perhaps one of the most important and difficult jobs there is in the
world. This is because how you raise your children will have a major influence on what
kind of person they will become in the future. There are many different kinds of ways
of parenting. In an article about parenting, it is said that there two main types of
parenting, authoritative parenting and permissive parenting (Smetana 312). Both have
advantages and disadvantages. There are three major differences in children’s freedom,
parenting complexity, and final outcome.
