Consumption Among College Students
Contemporary college students, as an extraordinary group in social consumption, have
different consumption consciousness and consumption patterns of their own consumption
groups, and have a certain social impact in the process of participating in the consumption
culture. As college students are enjoying their youth and their groups are very special because
their psychologies and behaviors are much more different than other consumer groups in society.
The consumption status of college students reflects the actual consumption trends of college
students and their future consumption trends. It is of great significance for studying consumer
economy and market demand. The concept of college students’ consumption reflects the status of
college students’ life and their value orientation. Studying the concept of university students’
consumption can grasp the characteristics of contemporary college students’ ideology and
behavior, and it will have a direct impact on the ideological and moral construction and teaching
governance of colleges and universities. They not only have stronger demand than people who
have been worked for several years. What’s more, they are also not economic independent which
makes their consumption greatly be constrained. The advancement of consumer attitudes and the
lag in consumer power have a great influence on their consumption. Their groups always have
their own unique characteristics. At the same time, it is inevitable that there will be some
irrational consumption problems. As Shuihua Yang mentioned in his article, there are two

clothing. Not satisfied with simple watching TV and other general leisure activities, but the
pursuit of fresh and exciting recreational activities such as rock climbing, bungee jumping, etc.
(Yang, 156) Proper leisure experiences can help students expand their horizon, such as many
students find part-time jobs to save money to go out to travel, or go to the concert, etc. But at the
same time, there are many students who spend their money on bars and clubs. Nazish Sohail and
