From big job to small jobs there is always a critical path when it comes to the order of
operations and sequencing of work. The bigger the job the more scheduling is required and the more
experience you need from a team of schedulers. Having a poorly thought out schedule is one of the
most influential aspects of why jobs are late and over budget. When scheduling there are key terms that
schedulers use to help plan out and organize a job. The first of which is defining the critical path, that
can only be done by finding the early start, late start, early finish, late finish and total float for each and
every task that is required to complete the entirety of the job.
To define what the critical path is, one must under stand the job as a whole. This is important
because they need to know each activity needed and how they influence the preceding and succeeding
