Concrete, Steel, and Paint was a great film! I have always been for restorative justice; I
personally think restorative justice is a great approach to justice. Restorative justice is an
approach where it allows the victim and offender to come to a resolution that will best repair the
harm. It simply repairs the harm to victims and the community caused by crime and that is
exactly what the documentary portrayed. I had a positive reaction to the film, I found it to be
very interesting. The film allowed me to see the beauty of art, every piece of art has a story and a
meaning behind it, just like the paintings of the inmates they all had a story and I found that to be
beautiful.
The themes that were brought up in the film were primarily focused on restorative justice.
Throughout the film and after reading the article “Can Forgiveness Play a Role in the Criminal
Justice System?”, I had very conflicted feelings for both the victims and offender. The film
