Q1. How would those closest to you describe you behaviorally (attitudes, traits, values, etc)?
A – People who are closest to me in my family would describe me as driven, caring,
hardworking, and sensitive. A lot of my family see me as a person who strives to become
successful in life. Because I strive to become successful, my family would say that I work super
hard to get to where I want by proving it with my work ethic and what I have accomplished in
my life. Besides being driven to succeed, my family would also describe me as a very sensitive
and caring person. This is because I do my best to make sure that my family is taken care of and
happy.
My closest friends would describe me a little differently from how my family does. They would
describe me as hardheaded, successful, and kind. My friends would describe me as hardheaded
because I am a very realistic person, I see things how they are, and I am very straightforward. I
am not much of a sentimental person with my friends and I am more about honesty and being
real. My friends would also describe me as successful because they see how much I work and the
many things I have accomplished at a young age that they have not. Finally, my friends would
also describe me as a kind person because I always try my best to cheer everyone around me up
while spreading positivity as much as I can.
Q2. What do you expect of yourself? What does your family expect of you and how
comfortable/uncomfortable are you because of these expectations?
A – I expect a lot from myself in life such as becoming successful, not going into debt, and to
spending time with family. I expect myself to be successful because my whole family is, my
family has made a name for themselves and has backed it up with their hard work and money. I
expect to continue that for myself so that one day, my future kids can do the same. I also expect
myself never to go into debt and I have done a good job so far because I will be able to achieve
my bachelor’s degree without paying a single dollar. People usually start racking up debt when
they get their degree and I have made sure not to do that, so I never have to worry about owing
money. My last expectation for myself is to always make time for family no matter how old I
get. I expect that from myself because life is short, and you must spend as much time with the
people you love before that time runs out.
My family has the same expectations that I hold myself to. My family does as much as they can
to help me become successful in life whether they have to pull some strings to help me gain an
advantage or simply giving my advice. My family also has very strong expectations for me not to
go into debt because most times it is hard to get out of. My family also expects me to make time
for family because we all know that life is short, and you always have to make time to see family
because you never know when it will be your last day alive. I am very comfortable with these
expectations because I have the same expectations that I hold myself to, that my family also
expects of me.
Q3. Describe an incident when someone else’s words put you down or deflated you and why it
was so problematic.
A – One incident that has happened recently that put me down was a situation with my now ex-
girlfriend. We were in a year relationship and towards the end we had a lot of problems because I
worked too much and barely got to see her which she did not like. She consistently told me that I
