Abstract
Computer technology has rapidly developed in recent years and for this reason, it has been
adopted in different enterprises. Among these enterprises are hospitals where different
kinds of wearables are in use. The arm-based blood pressure wireless transmission patch is
an example of a wearable that is now recommended to patients by physicians, to help in
continuous and remote monitoring of their blood pressure values. The devices comprise of
a processing module and a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant), which interact with a network
to avail patient data to physicians. The device is designed to ensure privacy of patient data
and adds a lot of value to patients’ lives and the medical field as discussed in this paper.

Technology and the Modern Enterprise
Introduction
As computer technology continues to be rapidly developed, modern enterprises continue to
gradually embrace it. According to Ren and Du, “applications of computer are more and
more widespread in the enterprises” (2014, p. 547). Among these technologies are
wearables, which are one of the hottest items in today’s technology. Rutenbeck defines a
wearable as “a computer that is always with the user, is comfortable and easy to keep and
use, and is as unobtrusive as clothing” (2012, p. 268). This paper is a discussion of the
arm-based blood pressure wireless transmission patch, which is a wearable worn on a
patient’s arm to constantly monitor his or her blood pressure, and send results to a
physician for close monitoring.
Discussion
For many years, monitoring of blood pressure has been conducted by trained personnel in
a clinic setup, and with the patient being required to be in a certain posture, while this is
being done. This makes continuous monitoring impossible. The blood pressure wireless
transmission patch has been developed to make continuous monitoring of blood pressure
in patients possible. The device discussed herein is worn on a patient’s arm and with it,
blood pressure is monitored and measured continuously and in a manner that is
non-invasive.
In regard to data collection points, the arm-based blood pressure wireless transmission
