A COMPARISON AND CONTRAST OF CHRISTIAN AND SECULAR COUNSELING
There is a great need for biblical counseling today. As, time moves and the systems of
this world worsen the pressures of life on society is manifesting unlike ever before. More than
50% of all adults in the United States now claim to be stressed out, too busy to make sense of
their time-starved, cluttered, and unstable worlds (Barna & Hatch, 2001). Living in a time where
people are looking for quick fixes, chasing excitements, pleasure seeking, tired, over processed,
overworked and simply yearning for the sense of rejuvenation. People are looking for directions
among the uncertainties of life. As, the hearts of men are waxing cold biblical doctrine in
conjunction with advanced psychological techniques could bring true healing. This intent of this
paper is to critically analyze the two subjects, finding and point out their similarities and or
differences.
