The broader problem of waste management may be the concern of the government
but the disposal of such waste at its origin should be the religious concern of individuals
In fact, the very act of refraining from throwing plastic wrapper, plastic bottled
onto the streets, inside rooms, is the very first meaningful step in the journey of a
thousand miles towards healthy living.
One environmental education activity that we did last time was gathering of these
plastic bottles and other waste inside rooms of the building. Alongside with it, wad our
practice of sorting out this garbage. Sorting-out means the use of the 2 R’s – re-use and
recycle.
Sorting helps us lessen garbage because it makes us aware of things we can
actually re-use or recycle. Practicing the two R's consciously will not only reduce waste.
It can also help save environment. If we use products that produce a little or no waste at
all, that which can be re-used or recycled, saving the environmental follows. What we did
were just small acts of concerns on waste managements. But re-using and recycling will
help lessen solid waste and can make a big difference or helping save energy and
resources
