Impact of Social Media on Society | Touba
Social media is the product of globalization which has virtually connected the people all
across the world by contracting actual distances. From layperson to highly qualified professional
everyone is known to Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Twitter as different platforms of social
media. Within less than last two decades people has become so addicted to social media that they
do not do any activity without posting an update on social media. The frequency and intensity of
the impact of social media can be gauged on both positive and negative scales. No doubt, social
media has enhanced awareness of basic rights, it has increased spirit of doing group projects and
it has enlarged the scope of business marketing, but it has also introduced the society to many
forms of cyber activities and terrorist activities. In addition to this, it has plagued society with
many unknown psychological and physical ailments, and it has created conducive environment for
many social issues.
