The Spanish Conversion of the Indians
Ever since settlers landed into the New World, relations with Native Indians varied from
European to European. Native Americans were viewed as aliens to many settlers who arrived to
the new world and Europeans were viewed as foreign monsters to many Native Americans. The
culture of the Indians and Europeans created conflict and the languages they spoke to each were
often misunderstood by each other. Europeans viewed them as unhuman and uncivilized because
of the way they dressed, ate and lived. Each European country had a different way to deal with
these Indians to conquer their land. The English were crueler than others; they wanted to
