College Writing Reflection
I am not a natural writer by any means. I really have to try and think about what I am
going to say and how I am going to say it. I struggled in English W131 this year when it
came to grammar and sentence fragmenting. Many times throughout the semester my
Professor pointed these sentence fragments out to me. In my rhetorical analysis I started
my paper with a sentence fragment. I also struggled when it came to reaching the desired
amount of pages. I think this is because I have trouble coming up with ideas. For example
in my memoir I didn’t reach the desired amount of pages mainly because I didn’t know
how to go deeper in my writing. My punctuation isn’t very good either. Many times I had
to seek someone out for help because I couldn’t correct it on my own. The hardest paper I
had to write was the rhetorical analysis. I just didn’t understand the concept. My topic
wasn’t a walk in the park either. I had trouble writing the paper without summarizing it. I
actually wrote the whole rough draft as a summary instead of analyzing it. It was hard to
pick out the things the author was doing and to show how he was doing it through his
