An article titled “The limits of Intelligence” by Douglas Fox (2011) talked about the importance
of collaboration of human minds by providing an example of honeybees forming a collective
entity that is smarter than the sum of its parts. Social interactions and collaboration help us to
pool our intelligence with others, therefore it is vital for special educators to collaborate and
interact effectively with colleagues, general class teachers, parents, students, community
members, paraeducators, and other special needs teachers Moreover, it is not less important to
hone and implement leadership skills in the workplace.
It is not easy to be a good leader. A good leader is not a boss or a dictator; it is a person who has
the ability, experience and motivation to inspire, teach, support, and collaborate with others. I
agree with the words of the president Harry Truman who said that great leaders have the ability
to get others to do what they really don’t want to do- and to like doing it. Actually, something
