I believe the Cold War was one of the toughest times in the United States. “It was a time of
uneasy relations between the world’s super powers”. (Book: Keys to America History, pg. 193.)
The cold war started when the United States was worrying about the spreading of communism. I
think the Unites States felt the urge to protect other countries from communism and promote
foreign democracies. “The Cold War policy dictated that the United States act to protect, support,
and promote foreign democracies” (Book-Keys to American History, pg. 197). It was a time
when countries were fighting for power as well. These two countries fought to expand their
influences across the world. Eventually, the Cold War brought up a lot more wars between some
countries.
