Proposal for Coca-Cola
Recommendations:
• Continue to sell coca-classic with new advertising focusing on the youth
• Identify and focus on the new/old consumers wants and likes
• Re-evaluate the advertising strategies and the social market
Analysis:
Coca-Cola is the base of the soda world, they are known as a symbol of the United States. In the
60’s, 70’s, and 80’s coke was also on top. When Pepsi started to get a little more creative in the
80’s Coca-Cola had to go back to the drawing board. Coke launched a new formula of coca-cola
after a successful win over the old formula in a taste test. The test taste cost coke 4 million
dollars and consisted of 191,000 people, approximately fifty-five percent of the consumers
picked the new formula. Coca-cola went on a downfall after that release. Coca-cola named the
new formula of coke “New Coke.” The name new cook is too simple for a worldwide product,
the world new also mainly focusing on the newer generation, keeping the old and loyal buyer’s in
the dust. Focusing on the aspect of hoe can I create customer value form the new generation but
also keep the loyal ones. Coca-Cola will sell itself to the loyal costumer’s, by advertising the
product with what the youth like will also grab their attnetion to drink coke. A well-crafted
having the already loyal costumer’s, the product sells its self and not much advertising is needed.
