Cloud computing, also known as “the cloud,” is the newest way to store files and
applications. Rather than these items being stored on a local server or personal device such as an
external hard drive or on a computer, files and applications are now stored online. Users no
longer have to worry about losing their storage devices, all it takes is a simple username and
password to access one’s files. The cloud also offers expandable storage. With a USB drive or an
external hard drive, one is limited to the amount of storage that the device offers. However, with
the cloud, users pay for the amount of storage that they use. Therefore, users get exactly their
money’s worth and no longer have to purchase a new separate device if they want additional
storage, all they have to do is update their account.
