Of the numerous issues with cloud computing in today’s world, key issues that the users
are confronted with are:
a. Security and Piracy
b. Data Privacy
c. Location constraints
d. Implementation of policies and standards globally
Below are my key concerns I would want potential cloud vendors to address:
1. Hardware security is a mandatory model which is institutionalised in all the cloud
companies globally. However, there is a need to establish the requirements for securing
own hardware from the rest of the applications that are shared in the cloud. The security
provided by the cloud vendors might not suffice the entire cloud infrastructure,
alternatively there has to be a requirement for dedicated hardware security for each
company using cloud based services as their data centers. This dedicated hardware security
should allow full ownership to our database systems in cloud for maintenance and control
over the sensible data that our company owns. My question hence would be,”Is there
something like a dedicated security model for each company that we can incorporate to our
systems for an extra layer of security? If so, can i customize it and maintain it”?
2. The availability of private network space and data storage inside the cloud can
mitigate/avoid many problems from hackers, potential security breaches and restrict the
usage to limited number of users in the complete cloud systems. Since in the event of a
security breach/failure of one user could impact the network security of many other
multiple users who share the space. Therefore, I am concerned in asking,”Can we create
our own space, isolated and protected from the other applications in cloud so that we can
