Cloud computing is a computer resource service that is expansive and virtual. Cloud computing involves
the utilization of software, hardware and any other computer resource to transmit information via a virtual network.
The internet serves as the preferred network for the transmission of these services. Cloud computing has found
application in numerous organizations all over the world and is fast gaining ground as the preferred mode of
handling data and information. This is because, currently, the data needs of organizations can be adequately and
sufficiently handled using this application. Telephone companies, banking organizations, business institutions as
well as other organizations that have enormous information needs such as hospitals make use of this technology
(Heyd, 2012). This paper will discuss cloud computing and its benefits in the current world. Furthermore, the paper
will discuss the issues and controversies surrounding the application of cloud computing and the limitations of
