Clear and concise communication increases productivity because it wastes less time by not
having to going over topics multiple times, answering of unnecessary questions and
enables the person on the receiving end to have a correct and direct explanation of what
needs to be completed. This allows for time to be directed towards projects other tasks.
Misunderstandings and miscommunications are some of productivities worst nemesis.
Every person’s level of comprehension is not the same, therefor it is important to be
mindful and make sure each individual understands what’s being relayed. When relaying
information be very direct and be willing to answer questions, this will enable the person
whom you are communicating with to prevent making mistakes.
Communication in the workplace includes, but is not limited to, exchanging information
written and verbal effectively. To communicate one must actively listen and respond in a
concise manor. The heart of communicating is understanding, retaining and applying. To
do so it demands interest and recognition, of the information being given to find a
resolution. It is important to be mindful of the delivery of communication. One needs to be
mindful of nonverbal communication, as the lack of physical contact can alter the
perception of the information being exchanged.
