Reflection Paper – Assignment Criteria
These are critical thinking assignments that will require you to refer to your textbook, notes,
recent class discussion, and/or any other scholarly material or resource(s) that have been
approved by your instructor.
***All Reflection Paper topics must be approved prior to final assignment submission. Please
submit your topic ideas to the “Reflection Paper Topic Submission” link***
CONTENT:
• Choose a topic or issue from class discussion, your text, notes, a guest speaker, video
etc… and provide a thorough description of the topic. It is important that you select a
specific focus. The more you can narrow down your discussion, the easier it will be to
compose the paper (ex: “the impact of restorative justice on corrections” or “the
advantages/disadvantages of sentencing models”).
• Please do not duplicate a topic that has already been assigned as homework or an in-class
activity. The idea is for you to choose something that you are passionate about or have
gained an interest in as a result of this course. Researching the topic is a part of this
process.
