Voices of Civil Rights Essay
This documentary was a very well made one, and the individual stories of average black
and white citizens of the United States helped really hit home the message of how important
voting is and realized the horrible things African Americans dealt with during the Civil Rights
Movement. As an American citizen with a strong Hispanic heritage and Mexican background I
can understand the discrimination that African American’s faced during the Civil Rights
Movement, however the severity of the discrimination that Hispanic faced pales in comparison to
the horrible things that African American’s faced on a daily basis. It’s amazing to see how much
white southerners truly hated any form of White and Black interaction and the riots and protests
of the integration of schools in the South was truly amazing to see. The horrors that three little
