YCIS CISA Girls Basketball Newsletter
The CISA Chongqing YCIS girl’s team was recently invited to a basketball tournament held in
Chengdu by Meishi International School. After five exhausting games, the girls pulled out
with 2nd place with only eight girls.
Just a few weeks before the game, there was barley going to be a girl’s basketball team since
there was a shortage of players. Within three weeks of intensive training, they were able to
put together a girls team and learn about, surprisingly, several players on the team just
started to play basketball a few weeks ago.
Out of the five games the girls played, they won two games against the Meishi team and lost
the other three against QSI Chengdu with scores that were only a several points behind. The
YCIS girls did their absolute best in playing each and every game, no matter when they were
on offense or defense, they never gave up even when their scores were behind. The girls
knew how to work as a team while playing, as they all knew each basket scored was
everybody’s effort.
During the game, injuries were almost inevitable, unfortunately, some girls got hurt, but they
still finished strong. As the other girls are on court, the rest of the girls would constantly
cheer up their teammates and encourage them.
After a long-tired day, the girls proudly head back to Chongqing earning second place overall.
