I will be talking about why critical thinking is in fact important for a student with an
apostolic worldview. The reason I am going to tackle this opinion is because I feel that often
times critical thinking gets put on the back burner for students that are apostolic in their
worldview. We are so often just told things in church, in school, and in our homes that we forget
to think things out for ourselves. Since that is the case we often times forget to actually critically
think about the things that are being told to us. Because we do not have to.
I really think that students with an apostolic worldview are sometimes put at a
disadvantage because we find in some of our churches that they discourage them from critically
thinking, because the pastor fears that if they do, he will lose them from his teachings. I have
actually had a personal experience with that at a church I attended when I was a child. Whenever
a teen or young adult would ask the pastor a question, he was more than likely to tell them
