While there are many parts of God’s word that I hold near and dear to my heart, the most
important belief that I have is that the Lord calls me to love him and others. One of my favorite
verses, 1 Corinthians 16:14, says “Do everything in love”. I truly believe it is that simple. If
everything I do is done out of love for God, I will not fail at leading others to him.
The adoration I have for the Lord is what inspires me to desire to be more like him. God
loved humankind so much that he was willing to send his only son, Jesus, down to earth to suffer
and die for our sins. In the same way that God was willing to sacrifice Jesus to show his love for
humanity, I feel that it is my duty to sacrifice my time and energy to show others the Lord’s love.
I display love, kindness, and forgiveness through volunteerism with the children’s ministry at my
church. Additionally, serving in my community with the local food bank provides an additional
opportunity to share God’s purpose. It is my constant striving to love as God loved that
genuinely makes me a compassionate, empathetic, and grounded leader.
As I am striving to become a Christ-centered leader, Liberty has become a clear choice
for me. This is an institution where I can flourish both in my academics, and in my faith. I am
eager to seek out opportunities where I can demonstrate my christian faith by contributing to the
