• How to become a member: Becoming a member to this organization seems more
than simple. All you have to do is go to their website, which is listed above, and
click on the “Membership” tab and go to “Join or Renew”. From there on out, you
will select the “New Member” page and fill out a fairly short membership
application.
• Membership Benefits: This association allows you to choose from three different
types of membership packages: comprehensive, regular, and student. The
comprehensive membership is more of a “VIP” package, offering six new books
to members per year, 20% discount on all products in their catalog and online
store, five digital issues of award-winning Young Children, NEXT for Young
Children, and Tesoros y Colores (which is the Spanish version), reduced
registration fees for sponsored conferences and training opportunities, including
the world’s largest early education conference, and access to the Members Only
area of our website, which features exclusive digital benefits and content.
Reduced subscription fees, voting rights in the organization’s elections, 10%
tuition reduction for Walden University, and membership in a local NAEYC
affiliate are also added benefits. The regular and student membership also gives
you all of that except for the six books per year.
• Summary: “NAEYC’s mission is to serve and act on behalf of the needs, rights
and well-being of all young children with primary focus on the provision of
educational and developmental services and resources.” That is NAEYC’s
mission statement and it perfectly explains what this organization is all about.
NAEYC is the world’s largest organization working on behalf of young children.
They want to improve the working conditions in early childhood education to
further improve the way children all around the country learn. All in all, they want
to make it easier and more enjoyable not only for the children, but also for the
parents and the communities who work together to provide an education.

• How to become a member: There are four different options when signing up to
become a member which are an emerging leader member, individual leader
member, self-study program, and vendor. This membership application seems to
be less lengthy than the one of the NAEYC. To become an emerging leader, the
membership cost is $40.00. The application asks for all of the basics such as
name, address, credit card information, along with additional information and
education/experience as well as social and volunteer organizations.
• Membership Benefits: The Association for Early Learning Leaders offers a wide
variety of benefits including:
– Free webinars which provide training credits for administration,
accreditation, legal issues and other human resources.
– Free job postings: post jobs on the Association’s website at no charge.
– Quarterly Professional Connections© trade journal, including “Tool of
