Chicago Blackhawks: A Tale of Two Teams
The Chicago Blackhawks are a National Hockey League (NHL) franchise and are one of
the Original Six hockey teams in the league. The team has had numerous successes, winning the
Stanley Cup six times, most recently in 2015. The last two seasons for the Hawks have been a
mixed bag. The core of the team has stayed the same, but other role players have been changed.
In the following comparative analysis, the data will be compiled of goals, assists and penalty
minutes for the previous two seasons to determine where the team could not maintain their high
level of success.
In the 2016-2017 season, the Chicago Blackhawks finished with a record of fifty wins
and twenty-three loses, which was good enough to win the Central Division and made the
playoffs. The Blackhawks were swept in the playoffs by the Nashville Predators ending their
