Course Description:
This course is for non- science majors.
The elements and their compounds are considered from a non-technical standpoint with emphasis
placed on the chemistry of familiar materials. This course will examine the relevancy and
importance of chemistry to our daily lives and to relate the discipline of chemistry to other areas
of study such as agriculture or nursing. Topics found in the media will be related to subject matter
studied in the class.
