Assignment – Chapter 6 Team Self-Leadership – Short Answer
1. How do the terms self-leadership and teams not contradict one another? What are the
key components of “team–self leadership” and how do those (if they do) differ from
individual self-leadership? Self-leadership is a key aspect of working as a team just as it is
when working solo. This is how the terms self-leadership and team do not contradict one
another. If a team member is unable to lead themselves the team will suffer and not be able to
reach synergy. Synergy in basic terms is when a group of individuals work together to
achieve a task or set of tasks even. After reviewing the text, I realized self-leadership and
team self-leadership are very similar because for both you apply behavioral and mental
strategies. These strategies are used by good self-leaders and they also enable other members
to give themselves direction and motivation.
