1. Read the attached article from The Economist entitled “A Guide to Skiiving.”
a. What are the author’s major points?
The authors main points are that Skiiving is incredibly important because
everything is about the impression you leave on other people. Even if what you are
portraying isn’t necessarily true, like having your emails automatically send at certain
times. You can benefit greatly from certain psychological things that cause a person, in
this case an employer, to view you as a hardworking or very well managed person.
b. Do you agree?
I 1000% agree with the authors writing,
c. Why/Why not?
I think that impressions are everything now adays and if you can focus on how
you portray yourself then people will take you more seriously and respect you more. In
the case of a workplace, someone who visually appears as a hard worker and someone
who has their own time managed is a lot more “attractive” then someone who is
scattered.
