Q1. What limits to human equality are suggested in these laws?
Human equality is a matter of putting all human beings under the same conditions,
so that everyone is equal. Although, with the Hammurabi code there wasn’t human
equality because people were treated differently based on where they belonged. So,
if human beings are treated in different ways based on that information then human
equality would only exist between individuals belonging to the same category.
Q2. How would you evaluate the rights of women?
Women were addressed as a piece of property just as slaves were treated. The
individual rights of women were not taken into consideration the same way that
men’s rights were. A woman was considered the property of her father or husband.
