A City Without Redemption: A Response to “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas”
LeGuin showed us a world of hypocrisy; “The One Who Walk Away from Omelas” can
be translated as a political purposeful anecdote. The child living in wretchedness under the city
signifies to under or average victims and workers, which underpins the high society with came
up short on work. However, as can be seen from the title and the end, the author is still hopeful
about the society she describes. I agree with the author’s opinion; this state of society and culture
exist in history and reality. LeGuin took this introduce and assembled the whole society of
