The technology that I chose to focus on using was an iPhone.
Assignment part 1:
If Jason had to use an iPhone in his classroom I do not think he would be
comfortable. He seemed very excited to implement new technologies into his classroom
but in the end did not feel comfortable. He did not seem to know when it was appropriate
to actual integrate the technology into his teaching. I think if Jason became an expert on
using the iPhone technology he would be more apt to using it in his classroom. He is a
teacher who used technology to keep his classroom organized. I believe if the iPhone was
able to connect with the rest of his online part of the class he would be more apt to use it.
I believe that Brenna would be more willing to integrate this technology into her
classroom if she had the support of her peers. If she had someone who would support her
if she had any questions it would be less stressful for her. If she had the knowledge about
how the technology worked and how to trouble shoot when it wasn’t it would be less
stressful for her. She panicked when her technology stopped working and was not able to
keep the attention of the class; this is extremely ineffective and wastes a lot of time. If
was had a back up plan it would not have been such a catastrophe.
Matt had a lot of background knowledge about technology and I feel like he
would be the most successful integrating this technology into his classroom. The only
issue that he had was keeping the students attention. I feel like he might have an issue
working with iPhones because if he had issues keeping their attention with the science
technologies he might have the same issues here because the children have a lot of
experience working with this technology and might not keep on task. Matt would benefit
from coming up with something that would ensure their attention was on what they were
working on.
I don’t think that Cassie would be successful integrating iPhone technology into
her classroom either. She had a difficult time because of the classroom she was working
with. She was working with children who spoke multiple languages and were
immigrants. These children were not used to learning with the strategies she was using to
teach. I wonder if using an iPhone would provide a common ground with these high
