1. Craft a personal definition of censorship. Your definition can be no longer than 3 sentences or 50
words. After writing this definition discusses how you chose what ideas to include in your
definition and what ideas not to include. Do you think the definition as you have written it is
complete and accurate?
The definition of censorship-is the act of censoring people’s actions, words and even works of
art. When I say censoring I mean that these people are told how to act, speak and create despite
their own personal beliefs of how they should do these things. These people can be the government,
society or even yourself.
I chose these ideas to include in my definition based o0 the class discussions we had. With all
types of media, there is a government run organization telling the media what they can say and do.
For those that don’t follow these guidelines, they get less publicity therefore limiting their funds, and
then eventually losing their ability to create art or movies or whatever it is that they make. This also
includes self-censorship because one controls how they act and speck based on di0erent se2ngs. I
do believe my answer is complete.
