Robert Newsom purchased Celia for the purpose of being his sex slave. During the years Robert
Newsom sexually exploited Celia, she had two of his biological children. Celia developed a
relationship with another slave man named George. Celia at the time was pregnant with a third
child. Without certain knowledge of who’s child this might be, either George or Robert
Newsom’s. George gave Celia an ultimatum to confront her master, Robert Newsom, to stop
sexually exploiting her. Robert Newsom came into Celia’s cabin to once again rape her. Celia
acting upon what George insisted, resisted Robert Newsom’s attempt to rape her. She grabs a
club and began striking her master in the head and as a result killing him and burning his body
