One of the most basic ways of communication that humans adopt is the ability to
speak to one another. The complexity of speech is overlooked because it is something
that occurs naturally and we fail to appreciate its entirety. When speaking people tend to
think very little about all the processes that have to happen enable to produce a speech
sound. For example the production of the syllable /din/, as in the word "dean" is produced
by using anatomical features that are involved in the production of speech by the nervous,
respiratory, phonatory, articulatory and resonance systems.
To start off the process of speech production, neural information is sent from the
cortex and goes through the medulla. When the information is being sent the neuronal
cell bodies will be supplied with nerves to the thoracic region. The corticospinal tract
