Causes of Crime
If poverty is the mother of crime, lack of good sense is the father (Jean de La Bruyère). In
recent years, crime rates have risen, and many people have suffered from crimes. The crime which is
caused by mental problems, poverty is one of the main problems of society.
One of the main causes driving a person to commit a crime is mental problems. Nowadays
the psychologists and criminalists said that what drives a person to criminal behavior is really
complex and complicated mechanism, involving a lot of factors. There wasn’t any reason to kill
someone for murderers who have mental problems because they cannot think sensible due to their
illness. Untreated severe mental illness is especially significant in homicide.
Secondly, poverty is one of the factors that affect crime, and the general belief is that poverty
is the cause of crime. According to the crime statistics, it is known that the majority of criminally
committed individuals are poor, and it is thought that the poor are more likely to commit crime.
