THE CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF PEER PRESSURE
Peer pressure can be defined as the ability to be influenced or controlled by your friends,
colleagues, or family members. When someone is under the influence of negative peer pressure,
they are forced to do something that they do not feel comfortable doing were it not for peer
influence. Therefore, this implies that negative peer influence is toxic and can lead to uncalled-
for behavior and worrying consequences. Through negative peer pressure, people are lured into
engaging in dangerous activities by their peers. For example, a young boy can influence a
