Abstract
Most Kentuckians are familiar with the taste of cat fish. In fact, catfish filets are a product that
has significant history throughout Kentucky. This commodity is not among most of the festive
events done outdoors in Kentucky. In this paper standard preparations for selling catfish filets
from the local Kroger market will be conducted as an operation among some of the local Farmers
markets throughout Kentucky. Along with a list of regulations, required permits, and methods of
operation.

Introduction
Catfish is a well-liked food that we do not always see available in outdoor festivities for
example, Farmers market. Farmers market provides commodities that are fresh and straight from
the main source or garden itself. The point of these markets is to support Kentucky locally grown
products, attract people that want fresh food, better nutrition and can find prices cheaper than the
local store prices (Kentucky Proud, 2018). KY Department of Agriculture outline farmers
markets as a place where one or more farmers come together at a particular place and time to sell
products that the farmer has raised or produced themselves and sell straight to the consumer.
Community-supported agriculture or farmers markets are well known for fresh produce, in fact,
farmers markets are more willing to the sales of animal protein and the offering of fresh fish
fillets to the consumer as well (Dr. Sid Dasgupta and Mr. Richard Bryant, 2012).Catfish cooked
fresh and made available to eat is a good way to provide these new commodities to the consumer
and a way to make money. Not only is this a way to make money but is also a good source of
protein to provide for the consumer. Famers markets as well as other festivals advertise their
events for the public to be aware of their location and special activities. You can be a part of this
festive event and allow your new commodity of fish fillets to enter the market of advertisement.
Larger the festivity the better opportunity a person will have to make more money. However, if a
small scale operation is more suitable, your farmers market is a perfect place to start or perhaps
holding a special event of your own would be more suitable. Most festive events require a site
