1. I am in the diesel program at Helena College and have discovered a debate between
engine manufactures for the heavy duty industry. This has lead me to the question who is
the best? There are many arguments for each maker but I want to know stats for which
makes the better engines. From my knowledge I think that Cummins makes the better
engine. So my hypothesis is “Cummins make the best preforming heavy duty engines on
the market”
2. What are the stats for heavy duty engines on the market today? Cummins makes the best
preforming engines on the market? I seek to prove that Cummins makes the best engines
on the market. If the stats disprove my hypothesis then I will show who is king of the
heavy duty industry.
3. I plan to get stats data on all the leading manufacturers of heavy duty diesel engines.
This is an effort to prove that Cummins makes the best preforming engines on the market.
4. I will focus on the manufactures themselves. Taking the listed toque and horsepower
into effect them I will cross reference the info with credible third party institutions for
engine testing. I will show printed stats from each maker, as well as electronic publishing.
I will keep engine sizes as similar as possible and try to use third parties that test all makes
of engines.
