The strength and weakness of our system as well as the system in those countries.
For Malaysia one of the strengths are they will listen to and get a majority vote on a bill
before make the decision to make it the bill as official law to public. and If the Dewan
Negara does not pass the Bill within one month of being presented with it, the Dewan Rakyat
may present it to the Agong for royal assent. For the weakness are its took to long time to
Bill become an official law andA Bill that has been proposed and passed by the Dewan
Rakyat will still become law even if the Dewan Negara does not pass the Bill.
Secondly for South Korea, their strengths are its just took a short time to the bill for became
the official law which is the President may request that the National Assembly redeliberate
on the Bill by attaching an objection statement within 15 days from the date when such Bill is
transferred to the Government and they also will conduct regulatory examinations of each
law and examination of government departments of legislation, including matters that limit
the rights of the people, including in practical aspects, such as whether they are realistic,
whether they are in line with state objectives. One of their weakness are Using unicameral
system and the disadvantage of the unicameral system is that urban regions with larger
populations will have a greater influence than rural regions with smaller populations.
The last one which is Philippines, one of their strengths are If the bill or its vetoed items is
passed by a vote of two-thirds of the Members of each House, such bill or items shall
become a law and they also using different types of voting types to get majority voice which
are:
-Viva voce
-Count by tellers
-Division of the House; or
-Nominal voting
One of their weakness is The bill is approved by an affirmative vote of a majority of the
Members present and If the bill is disapproved, the same is transmitted to the Archives.
