Case Study
1.
In my opinion, games are learned more by intentional learning mechanisms rather than
unintentional learning. According to the textbook, intentional leaning happens when “consumers
set out to specifically learn information devoted to a certain subject.” On the other hand,
unintentional learning occurs “when behavior is modified through a consumer stimulus
interaction without a cognitive effort to understand a stimulus”. Before the customers start to
play game, they are required to read instructions to learn how to play the game. Generally, the
instructions are long and boring, but users make cognitive efforts to understand them in order to
enjoy the game. Therefore, games are learned by intentional learning mechanisms.
