Career Fair Assignment
Coming from being a nursing major, I had never gone to a career fair, so I didn’t know
what the event would be like. Luckily, I have a few friends who are business majors, or had gone
in the past, and asked them about their experiences. Their input was rather surprising to me.
They all had different opinions, ranging from it being the one of the most helpful things that the
university offers, to it being one of the biggest waste of time. This left me a little uncertain when
it came to do the assignment. I knew that if I were to go that it would be only for a short time due
to my class and work schedule. After much contemplation and many more discussions with
friends I decided that even if I could only go for a short time that the most beneficial option
would be to go. And here is what I took from it:
To start things off, I only went to the career fair for less than an hour. It was the only time
I had allotted in my day to make it. Looking back at it I wish I had configured my day so that I
would have had more time to spend. Due to my short duration there I felt as if I cheated myself
out of being able to talk to certain vendors at the fair. With the lack of time I found myself only
