Want to be a small fish in a big pond or the other way round? Every graduate faces this
question when he starts his career. A large number of college graduates prefer to stay in the big
cities. To them, staying in big cities means more opportunities to see the big world and more
space for career development. At the same time, a higher salary is another temptation. But
some other graduates want to start in small towns. Even though there may not be many big
companies, they can have a quieter and less competitive life. Another reason is that they can be
a big fish in a small pond. They can easily get the managements attention and may win
promotion earlier. As far as I am concerned, I prefer to start in a metropolis like New York. A
good beginning is half the battle, and in New York., I can find a job in a big company where I can
meet people from different places and cultures and also I can get more opportunity. I will learn
from them what I can not get from textbooks. In conclusion, making a career plan depends on
one’s value in life and work. No matter which choice one choose, hopefully, everyone will have a
bright future.
Being a manager in the hotel is my dream job. Management involves socializing,
management skills and organization. AS the "soft drive" I have to be patience and passion, I
cannot be rough when I deal some issues with my colleague it will ruin the surrounding of the
work. To the customer, I have to do more than patience and passion, let them feel when they
are coming to the hotel have the same feelings when they are at home, I will try my best to be
amiable as possible as I can. On the other "hard drive", It is important to me to study English
in a complete system, I must speak English correctly and fluently no matter where I work in a
hotel as a manager. And also it is necessary to have effective oral and written communication
