The Affects of Caffeine
Caffeine is known to be a rather addictive beverage, especially when compared to
other low caffeinated drinks. Classified as a psychoactive drug, caffeine can have major affects
on the body with more ways than one. Some of these ways that caffeine affects the body is
through dehydration, insomnia, and caffeine headaches. Dehydration is one of the main effects of
consuming too much caffeine. Dehydration is when one has an excessive loss of fluid from the
body, mainly water. Another way that caffeine commonly affects the body is through insomnia.
Insomnia is most often known as the inability to fall asleep at night or lack of being able to fall
into a deep sleep. Although there are many other negative affects that caffeine has on the body,
one of the main major affects is headaches. Caffeine headaches occur when a person drinks too

adults to be the most known to become easily dehydrated. Even with being dehydrated, and

dehydration. Children who are dehydrated tend to have no tears when crying, a rather dry mouth
or tongue, or the soft spot that is known to be on babies’ heads are normally sunken in. Adult
symptoms for dehydration include extreme thirst, dizziness, or confusion. When dealing with
caffeine and the effects of drinking too much caffeine has on someone, we look at many pieces
of information. Since caffeine is a psychoactive drug, it is very easy for it to trick a person into
thinking it needs caffeine all the time.
Another effect that too much caffeine has on the body is insomnia. Insomnia is the lack
of being able to sleep. Most people that say they have insomnia do not have it because they have
not yet been properly diagnosed by a medical professional. Insomnia is something that most
people believe they have because of their difficulty to sleep but most don’t have it but just
