A large writing on gender focuses on the main differences between men and
women. For example, studies show that women are engaged in a communal and
voluntary behavior, to be less selfish, less likely like to take risks, and to shy away
from competition. Communal means relating to a community. In experiments,
women were less willing then men to lie to secure profits, money gained after
expenses are paid, and more likely to take actions that end in large rewards. In
surveys, gender differences in the main values were strong across cultures.
Most studies of gender differences focused on student workers, or the
general population. It is not easy to see whether the conclusions extend to the
selected group of business leaders. There are many reasons to have doubts. First,
