The Integral Role that Knowledge Data and Information and Intelligence Play in Security, and
Business Continuity.
In the recent past, businesses have evolved to increase their enterprise awareness of
business security and continuity management. The trend is attributed to the emergence of serious
threats posed by terrorist attacks, natural disasters, and data breaches that lead to losses that may
cripple business operations. Enterprises and the managements are more concerned about the
resilience and continuity of businesses during and after occurrences of disasters and disruptions.
However, many institutions have not taken measures to ensure business security and continuity.
Data, information, intelligence and knowledge play critical roles in firms by ensuring business
security and continuity.
